Thomas Miller is the Founder and the CEO of MEI GROUP. He was previously the Senior Partner and Founder of Theatres Group International based in Toronto, consisting of a group of independently owned theaters, Cineplex Odeon Corporation, and Famous Players Inc.
He negotiated hundreds of exclusive distribution agreements generating millions of dollars for alternative programming with vertically integrated iconic brand partnerships. Mr. Miller is a passionate and energetic leader who has held numerous senior management positions across the distribution, exhibition and production spectrum in Canada and the United States.
Tom assembled a remarkably creative team of collaborators and community builders to establish a unique independent film distribution model increasing box office results, improving holdover outcomes and establishing stronger VOD and streaming performance.
Ana Paula Rocha Couto
Director of Marketing
Ana Paula joined MEI as Marketing Director after more than 15 years of marketing experience in Brazil, including at Petrobras, the leading corporate sponsor of the country’s film industry. Her expertise includes planning and execution of direct marketing, social media, and multi-channel campaigns, and she has been granted several industry awards for her exceptional achievements.
At MEI she will plan and implement the company’s communications strategy to get the word out about the films and the brand.

Vanessa Massi Campanholo
Peggy is currently finishing her undergraduate studies in English Literature at the University of British Columbia. Her longtime passion for creative expression led her to work at MEI as Executive Editor, where she can balance creative thinking with organized writing.
Her background as both a critical and creative writer gives her the proper tools to edit the company’s communications, business proposals, and web content. She is eager to learn about the independent film industry and apply her literary skills in the working world
Cherine Amr Khalil
Cherine Amr has been working in the cultural scene in the Middle East for the past 10 years; playing and managing her metal band in Egypt inspired her to use unconventional ways to promote and distribute her music. Before moving to Canada, Cherine was the project manager of an Arts Incubator called Garaad Media. Her work was to develop art projects in film, music, graphic novels and transmedia with their creators, produce them and find distribution channels for them.
She received BA in Management and International Marketing from The Arab Academy of Sciences and Technology in Alexandria, Egypt and the advanced Arts Certificate at Capilano University, Canada.
Besides her Booking Manager role at MEI GROUP, Cherine is also a sponsorship and development manager of Vancouver’s oldest theatre festival: The Vancouver Fringe Festival and still touring the world with her band Massive Scar Era.
